What exactly is an ATA Carnet?
It's an internationally recognized customs document that lets you temporarily export commercial goods, professional equipment, or samples into 87+ member countries without paying import duties or posting a bond at each individual border. It functions like a passport for your equipment — one document, valid for a year, accepted everywhere on the list.
What's actually included in the price?
Your flat fee covers the USCIB basic processing fee, your surety bond (which USCIB requires before it will issue a carnet), our preparation of your itemized general list, and overnight shipping of the physical document. The only variable is your bond premium, which scales with your equipment's total declared value — you'll see the exact number before you're asked to pay anything.
Why does the itemized list matter so much?
Every piece of equipment needs its own line: description, quantity, declared value, and serial number. Customs officers check this list against your actual gear at every border crossing. A list that's vague, mismatched, or missing a serial number is the single most common reason a carnet gets held up — which is why we review every list before it's filed, not just collect it.
